Competitive advantages

Advantages competitive are advantages that puts a company before other companies of the same sector or market, that allows him to emphasize or to excel before them, and to have a competitive position in the sector or market.
These competitive advantages can be given in different aspects from the company, for example, can have competitive advantage in the product, the mark, the service to the client, the costs, the technology, the personnel, the logistics, the infrastructure, the location, etc.
For example, a company can have a competitive advantage:
- when counting on a certain technology that allows him to produce products of very good quality.
- when counting on an efficient productive process that allows to reduce costs him, which, as well, allows him to sell to lower prices.
- when counting on a certain computer science system that allow him to quickly take and to process the orders of the client, and offering therefore a fast attention.
- when counting on a system of efficient distribution, which allows him to arrive at more points of sale.
- when counting on described personnel, which allows to offer an excellent service him to the client.
- when counting on a modern infrastructure, which allows to offer a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere to its clients.
- when counting on a good location, which allows him to have a greater visibility for the consumers.
The idea of the concept of the competitive advantages is that the company always looks for to tell on these, and that it reinforces and it takes advantage of those that already it owns.
A form to obtain competitive advantages is through the differentiation, when offering something different and novel. Por ejemplo, S.A. to offer an innovating product, this one gets to be successful, we could obtain a competitive advantage in the design of the product.
On the other hand, always we must reinforce and take advantage of to the maximum the competitive advantages that we have. For example, without we counted on the advantage to have a strategic partner, must take advantage of this alliance and to try to realize new agreements benefit that us to both and they allow us to be more competitive. Or, for example, if we have the advantage of being first in a certain market, we must try to solidify our position of leadership, and not hope to that they appear the competitors.
Finally, it is possible to stand out that the concept of the competitive advantage also can help to find an idea or opportunity us of business. For example, if we have identified a consisting of competitive advantage the technology necessary to produce a product to a smaller cost than the other existing businesses, but with the same quality, then a company that this technology takes advantage of could be a good alternative of business.
