We see next some simple advice who will help us to improve our numerical ability and, that way, to be able to improve our efficiency in the management of the finances of our business.
How to measure a variation
If, for example, we want to measure the variation that there is from 3,40 to 3.60.
We can say that the variation is simply the difference, that is to say: 0.20.
But we want to measure the variation in percentage terms: (0,20/3,40) x 100 = 5.88.
Therefore, we can say that from 3,40 to 3,60 there was a variation of 5,88%.
How to measure a participation
If the total sales of all the businesses similar to ours are of 163900, and the sales of our businesses they ascend to 9270.
In order to find our participation in the market: (9270/163900) x 100 = 5.65.
Therefore, we can say that our business has a participation of 5,65%.
How to measure a proportion, quotient, index or reason
If to produce 20000 products, 500 consumptions are needed.
In order to find the proportion product/consumption: 20000/500 = 40.
Therefore, we can say that by each consumption, 40 products are obtained.
In order to measure the proportion in percentage terms: (500/20000) x 100 = 2.5.
Therefore, we can say that the consumptions represent the 2,5% of products.
How to add mentally
If, for example, we want to add 670 + 950: we must add mentally first 90 + 900 (1500) and soon to add 70 to him + 50 (120): 1500 + 120 = 1620.
How to remove percentage mentally
If we want to find 25% of 120, first we found mentally 25% of 100 (25), and soon added 25% of 20 (5): 25 + 5 = 30.
