How to know if a business idea will be successful

We suppose that we were in the situation in that we have found an attractive idea of business, but before putting it in practice we want to know if this idea will be feasible and be successful.
For it the formal form is elaborating a plan of businesses, nevertheless, before it we can realize a small investigation to know quickly if our idea of business could become a profitable and successful business, or, on the contrary, we would have to look for new ideas of business.
This small investigation, could consist of:
To determine if sufficient market for our product exists
Before putting in practice our idea of business, we must determine if sufficient market (sufficient consumers) for our future product or service exists. Perhaps our idea of business seems to us attractive and innovating, but we did not count on sufficient market, our future business could not be profitable.
In order to know it can visit the markets, the commercial centers, or the sites where to be they commercialize or they offer products similar or similar to ours, and analyze if sufficient consumers for these exist. Also we can make small surveys or interviews where the questions would be oriented to find out if the survey interviewed person or would be prepared to consume or to acquire the product or service that we are going to offer.
To make a budget
Often the optimism by a new business, makes forget us to us the real investment that this one can have, ignoring the necessity to elaborate a meticulous budget of the future income and debits of the business. To this we must realize it study in the plan of businesses, nevertheless, before it, can make a fast estimation of the future income and debits.
For it we can consult on possible income and debits to people whom there are been or they are in similar businesses or similar to which we want to create, we can visit our future competition, and do considering of the number of consumers that it has, and of the cost average that each realizes. In order to calculate the debits, we can make a list of the equipment and consumptions that we are going to need, to visit the sites we are going where them to acquire, and to analyze the prices.
Once we have a approximate one of the total investment of the business, we will analyze if we counted with the necessary capital, or if we will count on the possibility of asking for some loan, or to a relative or friend, or some financial organization. And then, comparing the investment with the income that we have anticipated, to analyze if the business would be feasible and profitable.
To study to the competition
In order to know if our idea of business could become a profitable business, we must analyze previously to our future competition. To analyze what so many businesses similar or seemed to which we want to create, exist and what so competitive they are.
Perhaps the market for our product or service is ample, but too much competition exists, and this is competitive, then it is probable that no longer there is site for our business.
Nevertheless, still existing enough competitors, if our product is of quality, and has a good differentiation, it is probable that the consumers let the competition to choose to us. A good form to differentiate to us can offer an excellent service to the client.
To see if we counted on the knowledge and the necessary experience
In order to be able to apply a new idea of business, it is necessary that we count on knowledge and experience in the subject of the business that we want to create. For it is necessary that we have had or worked in similar or similar businesses.
Nevertheless, if we did not count on experience in the subject of the business that we want to create, we can compensate it with a good preparation, for example, when taking some course on the subject; or with meeting people whom if it has experience in the type of business and that they can help us, for example, when recommending to us good suppliers or when advising us in some aspects that we do not know.
